THE CHILD IN THE HISTORY: REFLECTIONS FROM CHILDHOOD FEELING GENESIS TO ADULTIFICATION ON SOCIAL MEDIA

Since the emergence of the feeling of childhood, it’s blatant the contradiction experienced by children in a society which sees them as fragile and worthy of protection, but that constrains them in increasingly complex living conditions, like the ones we've seen on social media. This article aims to offer reflections based on Theories of Childhood, specifically the Sociology of Childhood and the Social History of Childhood. In order to shed light on the harmful reality that has emerged in the online world, attempting to understand, through theory, what kind of adults we have become and what the consequences are for children today. This article uses bibliographic research and a critical-interpretative discussion of the phenomenon in question as its methodology. The results highlight the need to reaffirm the importance of fighting for childhood and children's rights, including using social media to promote the cause.
