This articlesaims to evaluate the impact of early care on traumatic brain injury(TBI) morbidity and mortality rates in Cascavel, correlating clinical and sociodemographic variables with the observed outcomes, since TBI constitutes one of the main causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide, and its prognosis directly depends on the speed and effectiveness of initial care. This is a quantitative, documentary, and retrospective study, based on the analysis of electronic medical records of patients diagnosed with TBI who were treated at Hospital São Lucas between 2015 and 2025. A sample of 100 medical records was analyzed in depth, revealing 16 cases of morbimortality — predominately male and elderly patients. Statistical analysis demonstrated a moderate negative correlation between the Glasgow score and morbidity and mortality, and a positive correlation with age, reaffirming literature data. Although the relationship between response time and outcome showed unexpected results, the findings reinforce the importance of early care and standardized documentation of clinical information. Thus, it is concluded that speed and quality in the initial management of TBI are crucial for reducing complications and deaths, highlighting the need for more effective protocols and continuous training of health and emergency teams.
