This article analyzes the academic output of the Postgraduate Program in Education at the Federal University of Amazonas, correlating theses and dissertations with the challenges of basic education in the state. Amazonas faces unique geographical barriers, such as river access to isolated riverside communities, scarcity of infrastructure, and economic dependence on Manaus. The objective is to map contributions and thematic gaps in the recent production of the PPGE-UFAM. The methodology involves quantitative and qualitative document analysis, using data from the UFAM Theses and Dissertations Database since 2020, totaling 138 dissertations and 96 theses (234 works). The works were categorized by keywords and descriptors, identifying themes such as Education (124 dissertations/82 theses), Work, Public Policies, Racial/Indigenous Equality, Health/COVID-19, and Others. The results indicate a predominance of research in inclusive education, teacher training, and public policies, with gaps in research on digital technologies associated with education and research with vulnerable populations such as LGBTQIAPN+. The discussion emphasizes the need to align research with Amazonian realities to overcome educational underdevelopment.
