The issue of Venezuelan refugees in Brazil has been gaining ground in Brazilian social debate, given the thousands of Venezuelans who have sought refuge in our country in search of a better life. The overall objective of this article is to discuss the legal protection and reception of Venezuelan refugees in Brazil. The methodology used was exploratory, descriptive, and qualitative research. It concludes that the 1988 Constitution provides for various rights for foreigners. In addition, we have the 1997 Refugee Law, which is innovative in the region, providing specific rights for this group, as well as the Migration Law, which provides rights for foreigners, stateless persons, and refugees, in line with human rights. Finally, it appears that the situation of Venezuelans in Brazil is one of extreme vulnerability, without the means to support themselves, without employment, etc., with many difficulties in integrating into the nation, as they are not offered a dignified welcome that would enable them to rebuild their lives.
