Abstract

The Education through Work for Health Program (PET-Saúde) aims to strengthen the integration between teaching, health services, and the community within the scope of the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS), promoting the critical training of students and the appreciation of health workers. The 11th edition of the program, focused on equity, guided the development of extension and training actions organized into thematic axes. This article presents an experience report from Tutorial Group 1 (GT1), focused on actions to value female workers and future workers in the SUS, considering gender, gender identity, sexuality, race, ethnicity, disability, and intersectionalities in work processes. The activities were carried out between 2024 and 2026 at the Terezinha Health Center in Belo Horizonte (MG), involving students, professors, and professionals linked to the Belo Horizonte Municipal Government, PUC Minas, and UFMG. The methodology was based on participatory workshops grounded in Permanent Health Education, using playful, audiovisual, and technological resources, including virtual reality. The results demonstrated an expansion of workers’ critical perspectives, the creation of welcoming spaces for listening and dialogue, and the strengthening of bonds among teams, as well as increased visibility of institutional equity policies and mechanisms to address workplace violence. It is concluded that PET-Saúde Equity is a powerful strategy for promoting equity, worker health, and critical education within the SUS.
