This article analyzes the relationship between contemporary female protagonism and mental health, investigating the impact of social pressure and the double burden of work on women's psychological well-being. The methodology adopted consisted of a literature review, based on the study of specialized literature and recent sociodemographic data regarding transformations in gender roles and the sexual division of labor. The main results demonstrate that, despite women's rise to positions of professional prominence, there was no equitable redistribution of domestic responsibilities. It was observed that the accumulation of roles, added to the demand for idealized standards, generates a cognitive overload directly related to the increase in pathologies such as anxiety, depression, and Burnout Syndrome. It is concluded that the current empowerment model, devoid of structural support, is unsustainable for women's integral health. The study reinforces the relevance of deconstructing the "superwoman" myth, suggesting the development of public and corporate equity policies aimed at mitigating illness and ensuring female psychosocial balance.
