Abstract

The article addresses the school inclusion of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in Brazil, highlighting the challenges and strategies for literacy. Teacher training is emphasized as essential for effective inclusive education, facing barriers such as lack of specific training, institutional resistance, and resource scarcity. Inclusive methodologies, such as TEACCH, PECS, curriculum adaptations, and formative assessment, are discussed, focusing on personalized teaching. The shared responsibility among teachers, administrators, families, and society is highlighted as crucial to overcoming challenges and promoting equitable education.
