THE INTEGRATION BETWEEN PUBLIC SECURITY AND EDUCATION: THEORETICAL AND EMPIRICAL EVIDENCE IN THE PREVENTION OF VIOLENCE AMONG YOUNG PEOPLE AND VULNERABLE COMMUNITIES

This article examines the integration between public security and education as a structural strategy to prevent violence among young people living in vulnerable territories. The study aims to understand how intersectoral actions can strengthen protection networks and promote safer environments. To achieve this purpose, it adopts a qualitative approach based on a bibliographic review of theoretical references and institutional experiences related to public policies, citizen security, youth and the Culture of Peace. The analysis indicates that education plays a central role by expanding formative opportunities, reducing risk factors and reinforcing community bonds. The results show that integrated policies involving schools, communities and public institutions are more effective than isolated actions, especially when guided by social participation and democratic practices. The study concludes that sustainable preventive strategies depend on continuous articulation between education, citizenship and public security, as well as on the qualified presence of the State and active community engagement. The research contributes to the field by systematizing theoretical and practical foundations that highlight the importance of integrated actions, suggesting that future studies include field investigations and impact assessments to deepen the understanding of territorial dynamics.
