This study aimed to investigate family involvement with the school, with the objective of analyzing how the family-school relationship contributes to learning development in a municipal school in Goiana-PE. To achieve the proposed objective, a bibliographic survey and legal documentary sources were conducted. Family and school share educational and socialization functions in childhood. Therefore, they should be analyzed jointly to contribute to the development of public policies and the overall development of the child, since the school is considered responsible for the learning development of children and adolescents. The research results demonstrate that frequent family participation in school promotes more meaningful learning, as family engagement in the school environment makes the child feel more secure in relation to activities, participation, and learning. It is concluded that a relationship between family and school is of paramount importance for the child's learning.
