THE PROCESS OF INEQUALITY THAT MARKS THE BRAZILIAN EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM

Educational inequality in Brazil is a historical and structural phenomenon that reflects the contradictions of a society marked by social, economic, and racial disparities. Although the Brazilian educational system has expanded access, it still reproduces mechanisms that perpetuate exclusion and selectivity. This article aims to analyze the process of inequality that shapes Brazilian education, based on authors such as Pierre Bourdieu, Dermeval Saviani, Paulo Freire, and Florestan Fernandes. Through a critical bibliographic review, it demonstrates that the school, while serving as an instrument of emancipation, also reproduces the structural inequalities of capitalist society. The study concludes that overcoming this scenario requires integrated public policies and pedagogical practices committed to equity and social justice.
