Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is an endocrine-metabolic condition affecting women of reproductive age, characterized by varied clinical manifestations such as hyperandrogenism, anovulation, and metabolic alterations. Due to its multifactorial nature, management of the condition should be holistic, aiming to improve quality of life and prevent comorbidities. This study conducted an integrative literature review to analyze available therapeutic options and their clinical effectiveness. Pharmacological, supplemental, and complementary therapies were evaluated. Metformin and GLP-1 analogs demonstrated metabolic benefits and improved fertility. Myo-inositol and vitamin D, combined with other substances, demonstrated positive results in controlling the lipid profile and menstrual cycle. Probiotics contributed to modulating the inflammatory process, while essential oils and acupuncture reduced hormone levels and premenstrual symptoms. It is concluded that the choice of therapy should be guided by the complaints and clinical profile of each patient, with individualized treatment being of fundamental importance for more satisfactory outcomes.
