This research aimed to investigate how multimedia resources can contribute to inclusion in higher education. Specifically, it sought to analyze the development and evolution of educational technologies applied to higher education, highlighting public policies and initiatives that promote the adoption of accessible multimedia resources; to identify the main multimedia tools that can be used in higher education to foster inclusive practices; and to examine the key benefits and challenges of implementing these resources, particularly regarding educational inclusion and the enhancement of teaching quality. The methodology adopted was a bibliographic research with a qualitative approach. The results indicated that assistive technologies, when properly implemented, significantly contribute to inclusion, enabling students to overcome barriers and actively engage in academic activities. However, challenges such as the need for continuous teacher training and the adaptation of institutional infrastructure were identified. The study also emphasized the importance of public policies in promoting accessibility, highlighting that the implementation of these technologies must be supported by strategic planning and ongoing support. This research underscores the crucial role of assistive technology in building a more inclusive and equitable educational environment, suggesting that the success of this integration relies on collaborative efforts among teachers, administrators, and policymakers to ensure that all students can reach their full academic potential.
