This study aims to analyze the influence of Instagram on adolescents' subjectivation processes, considering the psychological and social impacts resulting from the use of the platform. Thus, it seeks to investigate the effects of Instagram use on the construction of adolescents' self-image and self-esteem, in addition to evaluating the relationship between the use of the platform and the search for belonging and social validation, in order to reflect on the impact of Instagram on the social and behavioral interactions of this age group. The study methodology is characterized by bibliographic research, which is supported by the use of references from the area of social psychology and academic studies on social networks and identity in adolescence. It was observed that Instagram exerts a great influence on the formation of adolescents' identity, especially with regard to social comparison and the search for beauty and lifestyle standards. The search for social validation, through likes, followers and comments, was identified as a significant factor in the construction of young people's self-esteem, directly reflecting on their perception of themselves. Furthermore, the use of Instagram has also impacted social relationships, promoting superficial interaction based on idealized images, which has made it difficult to create more authentic bonds, as pointed out in studies by Almeida (2022); Guimarães and Aleixo (2020); Hage and Kublikowski (2019). It is concluded that Instagram, although a platform for expression and socialization, can generate negative impacts on adolescents' self-esteem, making them vulnerable to constant comparison and the search for external acceptance. These effects, however, can be mitigated by raising awareness about the use of the platform and by promoting a culture of acceptance and authenticity.
