Domestic violence against women constitutes a serious human rights violation and a persistent social problem in Brazil. Despite the advances brought about by Law No. 11,340/2006 (Maria da Penha Law), the high rates of recidivism and femicide have highlighted the need for more effective legislative measures. In this context, Law No. 14,994/2024, known as the Anti- Femicide Package, promoted significant changes to the victim protection system, especially regarding emergency protective measures. This article critically analyzes the main innovations introduced by the new legislation, highlighting the autonomous criminalization of femicide, the increased penalties for non-compliance with protective measures, the mandatory electronic monitoring of aggressors, and the strengthening of victim data protection. It uses a qualitative methodology, based on a bibliographic and documentary review, based on current legislation, doctrine, and updated case law. This study seeks to contribute to the understanding of the impacts of recent legislative changes on the effectiveness of public policies to combat gender-based violence.
