Abstract

This study investigated the ethical issues generated by the use of emerging technologies in science education, with the aim of understanding how these technologies impact the training of scientists and critical citizens. The research's general objective was to analyze the ethical implications of these technologies in science education and suggest pedagogical practices to integrate ethics in this context. The methodology adopted was a bibliographic review, with analysis of articles, books and other relevant materials on ethics, science education and emerging technologies. The results indicated that, despite the benefits of emerging technologies for education, such as personalization of learning and increased access to information, significant ethical challenges arise related to privacy, data security and inequality in access to knowledge. The analysis revealed that the training of future scientists and critical citizens depends on the integration of ethical discussions in the science education curriculum, including the use of methodologies such as case studies and debates on the impact of technologies. The final considerations pointed to the relevance of training educators to deal with the ethical issues associated with emerging technologies, in addition to suggesting that studies be carried out to monitor the evolution of these issues in educational practice.
