Education within the prison system constitutes a strategic tool for resocialization, as it enables the development of citizenship and the creation of opportunities for social reintegration. In the State of Amazonas, where the system faces issues such as overcrowding, social stigma, and a lack of educational policies, it becomes essential to assess initiatives aimed at breaking the cycle of criminality. The objective of this research was to analyze the State Education Plan for Persons Deprived of Liberty (PEE-PPL), designed for the 2025–2028 period, in order to understand its contribution to the social reintegration of inmates. The methodology applied was basic in nature, with a qualitative and exploratory approach, supported by bibliographic and documentary research. Reports, legislation, scientific articles, and the PEE-PPL itself were consulted, applying content analysis according to Bardin (2016). The results highlight progress in the formulation and implementation of educational actions for people deprived of liberty in the State of Amazonas, covering literacy, basic and higher education, vocational training programs, and monitoring indicators. Despite budgetary and structural limitations, the expansion of educational activities strengthens a resocialization agenda, although at a still modest pace compared to the demand.
