This article aimed to analyze the practice of peer mediation in the construction of a peaceful school environment, highlighting its relevance as a pedagogical strategy for transforming school coexistence. To achieve this goal, a bibliographic research methodology was adopted, based on the analysis of books, scientific articles, and official documents published between 2018 and 2023, in addition to classical works in the field of education. The systematization of the sources made it possible to identify the main approaches to mediation, the results of implemented experiences, and the implications for the integral education of students. The results showed that peer mediation significantly contributes to reducing school violence, strengthening socio-emotional skills, promoting inclusion, and developing youth protagonism. It was also observed that the practice enhances democratic experience and improves the school climate, becoming an effective resource for consolidating a culture of peace and cooperation within the school. It is concluded that peer mediation should be understood not only as a conflict resolution technique but as a cultural practice capable of redefining the identity of the contemporary school, preparing critical, empathetic, and socially committed citizens.
