This study aimed to analyze the benefits of strength training on the quality of life of women with fibromyalgia, highlighting its effects on pain reduction, improved muscle strength, and overall well-being. To this end, a descriptive and exploratory narrative literature review was conducted, searching the Virtual Health Library (VHL) between April and August 2025. Articles published between 2015 and 2025, in Portuguese, available in full and free of charge, were included. After applying the eligibility criteria, 17 studies were selected for analysis. The results showed that strength training, when performed progressively, guided, and supervised, provides significant benefits for women with fibromyalgia. These benefits include reduced chronic widespread pain, increased muscle strength and endurance, improved sleep and mood, and a reduction in symptoms such as fatigue, anxiety, and depression. Regular practice also contributes to stronger self-esteem, greater functional autonomy, and improved disposition for daily activities. It is concluded that strength training represents an effective and accessible therapeutic strategy for managing fibromyalgia, complementing conventional treatments. The research objective and problem were fully met, although further studies are needed to define specific training protocols.
