Children's motor development does not occur in a homogeneous manner and can be influenced by several factors, such as environmental, socioeconomic, educational and health conditions. Riverside populations face specific challenges that can compromise this development, making it essential to understand these factors in order to formulate effective strategies. This study aims to evaluate the motor development of riverside children in the Brazilian context, considering these factors. To this end, the methodology used was an integrative literature review. The searches were conducted in databases such as Scielo, PubMed, LILACS, Google Scholar, and CAPES Journals. To ensure the inclusion of relevant and up-to-date studies, the period analyzed was 2000 to 2024. The results indicated that, although many students present motor development within normal limits, factors such as precarious infrastructure, environmental contamination and gender inequality negatively affect this development. The review also highlighted the need for investments in public policies aimed at improving the living conditions of riverside communities, promoting access to adequate infrastructure, health services and leisure opportunities. It is concluded that the interaction between environmental and social factors directly influences the motor development of riverside students, reinforcing the importance of integrated strategies to minimize negative impacts and ensure healthy and equitable development.
