With advances in medicine, people with Down's Syndrome can lead normal lives. This disability can be treated and controlled, especially if it is diagnosed early. The development of people with DS is generally slower, but based on Vygotsky's studies - a social interactionist view - it is possible to see the progress that a child with this disability is capable of. With this in mind, the article aims to show the important role played by Vygotsky in his studies and to better understand what Down's Syndrome is. Its advances and possibilities.
