Introduction: The use of psychomotor resources by physiotherapy in users of long-term controlled medications emerges as an essential strategy to promote comprehensive care, favoring the physical, emotional, and social rehabilitation of these individuals. Objective: To investigate, through the literature, the psychomotor resources used by physiotherapy in the treatment of users who make prolonged use of controlled medications. Methods: A bibliographic review was carried out, using articles published between 2019 and 2024. Results: Psychomotor skills, as an interdisciplinary approach, is essential in the treatment of patients with severe mental disorders who make prolonged use of controlled medications. Although effective in controlling psychiatric symptoms, these medications can cause psychomotor side effects, such as tremors and motor difficulties, compromising the quality of life and autonomy of patients. Psychomotor skills emerge as an important therapeutic alternative to minimize these effects and promote physical and psychological rehabilitation. Conclusion: Research on the integration of psychomotricity into drug treatment is crucial to improving psychosocial care and improving patients' quality of life, offering a more holistic and effective approach.
