Abstract

This collection stems from a commitment to pedagogical innovation and the transformation of the teaching-learning process in light of the challenges and possibilities of the 21st century. Bringing together research and reflections from various authors, this work offers the reader a current and critical overview of the role of digital technologies in education, focusing on methodological strategies, inclusive practices, and disruptive scenarios that reconfigure teaching and the student experience.

The chapters address a variety of interconnected topics, such as the impact of artificial intelligence on Distance Education, the profile of the screenager generation and its implications for digital culture in schools, the articulation of curriculum and technology in special education, and the contributions of instructional design to promoting self-directed learning. The collection also discusses motivational factors in e-learning, the use of active methodologies and blended learning, the potential of digital media and visual language, and reflections on innovative approaches such as Project-Based Learning (PBL) and Design Thinking.

Each study invites the reader to critically reflect on the transformative role of educational technologies, going beyond their instrumental dimension to understand them as tools for humanization, equity, and inclusion. The aim is to share experiences, present trends, and foster a pedagogical culture anchored in didactic intentionality, the ongoing training of education professionals, and the construction of more accessible, creative, and responsive educational ecosystems to contemporary demands.

This work is intended for teachers, researchers, administrators, undergraduate students, and others interested in the interface between technology and education. By exploring emerging technologies from multiple perspectives and contexts, the collection seeks to inspire pedagogical practices committed to innovative, critical, and socially transformative education.
