This article aimed to analyze the main psychotherapeutic techniques used in the treatment of generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), focusing on their clinical effectiveness and impact on patients’ quality of life. The research was developed using a qualitative and descriptive approach through a narrative review of national and international scientific literature published between 2021 and 2024. Studies emphasizing methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Brief Psychodynamic Therapy, Mindfulness, and meditation were selected. The results reveal that CBT remains the most effective technique in reducing anxiety symptoms, while complementary approaches such as ACT and Mindfulness contribute positively to emotional regulation and increased treatment adherence. It is concluded that the personalization of treatment, considering the patient's subjective profile and the quality of the therapeutic alliance, is crucial for clinical success and the reduction of anxiety over time.
