This article aims to present the proposal for implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in the Department of Education and Culture of the municipality of Lábrea-AM, based on empirical observation carried out during a supervised internship. The research adopts a qualitative approach, applied in nature, with exploratory and descriptive characteristics. Data were collected through participant observation and literature review. During the internship, the lack of standardized routines for recurring administrative activities was identified, compromising the efficiency and continuity of institutional actions. The SOP implementation proposal aims to structure internal processes based on models established by the Office of the Comptroller General (CGU), promoting greater clarity, traceability, and predictability in administrative tasks. The results indicate that standardization directly contributes to improved citizen service, reduced rework, training of new staff, and strengthening of organizational memory. It is concluded that the adoption of SOPs represents an effective public management strategy that is replicable in similar contexts of other municipal departments in the Amazon region.
