Abstract

This is a thesis defended in the International Master's program in Business Administration and Management, which aims to conduct a literature review on the Brazilian public security system, guided by the author's curricular experience, in order to demonstrate the importance of the use of dogs in public security administration. Since, after my professional experience within a public security institution at the municipal level, formed by men, women and dogs, based on hierarchy and discipline, I observed that the work of the police dog (K9) and its guardians in the contemporary world aims to meet the priorities contained in the planning prepared by the institution's “CANIL” unit, thus increasing satisfaction and credibility, not only with organizations that also benefit from the services provided by the CANIL of the Metropolitan Civil Guard of the city of São Paulo.
