Problem-Based Learning (PBL) is an active methodology that places the student as the protagonist of learning, promoting the construction of knowledge through investigation and resolution of real problems. The objective of this study is to analyze its benefits and challenges in the educational context. The justification is based on the need for more dynamic teaching methods that stimulate critical thinking and autonomy. The research was conducted through a bibliographic review of studies published between 2018 and 2024. The results indicate that PBL improves engagement and knowledge retention, but requires teacher training and curricular adaptation. The conclusion highlights its effectiveness in contemporary education, reinforcing the importance of its planned implementation.
