This study presents an integrative literature review on scientific publications carried out between 2014 and 2024, with the objective of evaluating the practice of physiotherapy in women with patellofemoral pain resulting from patellar chondromalacia in the last ten years. Data collection was carried out through the LILACS, SciELO, PubMed and VHL databases, using the descriptors: Physiotherapy, Patellar chondromalacia and Patellofemoral pain. The search was started with search strings on the VHL platform, which integrates all the bases mentioned in the methodology. The combination “patellar chondromalacia” AND “physiotherapy” resulted in three articles, while “patellofemoral pain” AND “physiotherapy” returned eight articles. After applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, five studies were selected to compose the results and support the proposed discussion. The study highlights that physical exercise remains the gold standard in physiotherapeutic treatment, with personalized exercise prescription being the main differentiator in the science of physiotherapy. Furthermore, the combination of active exercises adapted to the individual needs of patients with electrothermophototherapy resources is essential for the functional recovery of the injured knee, relieving the pain and impacts caused by patellar chondromalacia in women.
