Abstract

This article sought to discuss Artificial Intelligence (AI) and how it is expanding the frontiers of diagnostic medicine, directly impacting the field of radiology. This innovative technology improves the interpretation of medical images and provides tools that increase diagnostic accuracy, efficiency, and personalization in patient care. Among the main applications of AI in radiological diagnosis are anomaly detection, image segmentation, and support for clinical decision-making. Such applications promote gains such as greater accuracy, reduction in analysis time, increased productivity, and personalized treatments, strengthening precision medicine. However, the implementation of AI faces challenges, including the need to ensure safety, reliability of algorithms, training of professionals, and ethical issues. Collaboration between humans and AI is essential to ensure accurate diagnoses and the development of new tools, with continuous research being essential for the ethical and effective use of AI to benefit healthcare professionals and patients.
