Abstract

Introduction: Communication occurs through the transfer of information between individuals, whether through writing, images or speech, generating knowledge and expertise. The construction of dialogue in the professional environment of nursing allows interaction between those involved, enabling each professional to recognize their capabilities and performance in specific procedures. Therefore, communication between nursing professionals facilitates care and makes the environment more harmonious, humanized, safe and of quality, generating better team performance. Objective: To analyze, based on the literature, how communication and interaction of the nursing team occurs in emergency care. Methodology: This study refers to an integrative review of the literature, based on the following guiding question: how is communication and functioning of the nursing team in in-hospital emergency care? Data collection took place between August and October of this year, through the Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO), Virtual Health Library (VHL) and Latin American Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences (Lilacs) databases, using the descriptors in health sciences (Decs): urgency and emergency, communication and nursing team. The inclusion criteria will be: articles published between 2019 and 2024, articles available in Portuguese, free of charge, that discuss the topic and that are available in full. Duplicate articles will be excluded, as well as those present in more than one database, articles in Spanish, in English, monographs, incomplete articles and dissertations. Expected results: through this study, it is expected that professionals will be able to improve nursing care for patients treated in emergency care in the hospital setting. Conclusion: In order for professionals to be able to offer better care and interaction through communication, they need to feel recognized and valued by the institution to which they belong, making the work environment and their performance more dynamic and optimized.
