This study investigated the use of podcasts in education, addressing their contributions and challenges in implementation. The general objective was to analyze the potentialities and obstacles of this tool in the educational context, utilizing a bibliographical research methodology. The literature review evidenced that podcasts promote flexibility and autonomy for students, facilitating access to content in an interactive manner. However, challenges were identified, such as the need for adequate technological infrastructure and teacher training. The final considerations highlighted that, despite the difficulties, the benefits of using podcasts outweigh the obstacles, allowing students to develop critical and reflective skills. Finally, the need for further studies was indicated to deepen the understanding of the effectiveness of podcasts in education, aiming to explore different contexts and audiences.
