This article seeks to demonstrate the importance of the applicability and benefits of environmental compliance policy in the agribusiness sector, through an analysis of environmental legislation applicable to the sector, highlighting possible spheres of accountability and demonstrating the benefits of its application with a focus on the sustainability of the activity. , preservation of natural resources and the environment. The article is based on bibliographical and documentary research together with the hypothetical deductive method, starting with the origin and application of the term compliance and the evolution of the agribusiness sector, the implementation of the environmental compliance policy for agribusiness, through its advantages and risk prevention. . In this way, the implementation of good practices such as sustainability in the production chain, maintenance of natural resources and compliance with current environmental legislation enables a scenario of gains, not only for producers, but for society as a whole in terms of sustainable environment.
