Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming various sectors, and education is no exception. This article explores the benefits and challenges of adopting AI in educational environments, analyzing its impact on both pedagogical practices and school management. Among the main benefits, personalization of learning stands out, allowing for the meeting of individual students' needs, automation of administrative and evaluative processes, and support for data-driven decision-making. However, the implementation of AI also presents significant challenges. Educators face difficulties in technical training and resistance to change, while schools grapple with inequalities in technological infrastructure and ethical issues related to privacy and data use. The article emphasizes the importance of inclusive public policies and collaboration among schools, governments, and the private sector to ensure effective and sustainable adoption of AI. Thus, for AI to significantly contribute to a fairer and higher quality education, it is necessary to balance the use of technologies with pedagogical methodologies centered on human and social development. In this way, AI can become an ally in the educational process, promoting inclusion and preparing students for the challenges of the future.
