This study analyzes the integration of digital media into school and university curricula, highlighting the role of audiovisual language in online teaching. The research, of a bibliographic nature, sought to understand how digital media, including social networks, MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) and audiovisual content, influence the educational process and student engagement. Based on the review of academic sources, it was found that social networks offer an interactive environment, enabling the sharing of information and the construction of learning communities. According to Beer et al. (2024), social networks expand the scope of learning, making it more dynamic and collaborative. MOOCs, in turn, have contributed to the democratization of access to higher education, allowing a significant number of participants to benefit from courses offered by renowned institutions, even at a distance. In addition, the use of audiovisual content stands out as an effective strategy for explaining complex concepts, promoting greater student engagement. According to Ribeiro (2024), the integration of videos and animations in online teaching facilitates the assimilation of content and caters to different learning styles. However, the research also highlights the challenges of this integration, such as inequality in access to technology and the need for critical use of digital media to avoid the dissemination of biased information. It is concluded that the incorporation of these media in online teaching enhances learning, as long as it is associated with innovative and conscious pedagogical practices, highlighting the importance of future research on implementation strategies.
