Adolescent depression is a prevalent and debilitating disorder that significantly impacts emotional, social, and academic development. Given the complexity of depression in this age group, psychosocial interventions emerge as promising approaches that complement drug treatment. This integrative review aimed to investigate the effectiveness of psychosocial interventions in the treatment of depression in adolescents, analyzing studies published between 2015 and 2023. Randomized controlled trials, cohort studies, and systematic reviews that examined cognitive-behavioral therapies (CBT), family interventions, school-based programs, and integrative approaches were included. The results indicate that CBT and family interventions are effective in reducing depressive symptoms, especially when there is adherence to treatment and family support. School-based programs have shown preventive potential and facilitated access to treatment. However, factors such as stigma associated with mental health and socioeconomic barriers continue to be challenges in the implementation of these interventions. It is concluded that psychosocial interventions are essential components for the treatment of depression in adolescents, and multidimensional and adaptive approaches can maximize their effectiveness.
