The study aims to analyze the role of pharmacists in managing the side effects of emergency contraception. The research is based on a qualitative literature review, using scientific articles and guidelines from the Federal Council of Pharmacy, covering the period from 2018 to 2024. Emergency contraception, composed of synthetic hormones, prevents pregnancy after unprotected sex or failures in other contraceptive methods. The pharmacist plays an essential role in providing guidance on correct use, managing side effects such as nausea and vomiting, and promoting health education. The development includes the creation of protocols and educational materials to ensure safer and more conscious use of this method. The conclusion highlights the importance of the pharmacist's proactive role in promoting reproductive health, emphasizing the need for educational strategies that prevent the indiscriminate use of emergency contraception.
