This study examines how teacher training influences the use of assistive technology (AT) and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) in inclusive education. The objective was to assess the impact of this training on the effective implementation of these technologies in schools. The qualitative research analyzed documents, educational materials, and interviews with educators. The results indicate that adequate teacher training is essential for the effective integration of AT and AAC, creating a more inclusive environment. Initial training often does not adequately prepare educators, making it difficult to apply inclusive strategies. The lack of continuous support and adequate resources compromises the effectiveness of pedagogical practices. Continuing education programs focused on AT and AAC are crucial to empower teachers and ensure effective implementation of technologies. Implications include the need to develop these programs and promote collaborative learning tailored to classrooms. Future research should explore teachers' experiences in different contexts and students' perceptions of the use of AT and AAC. It is also important to analyze public policies related to teacher training and inclusive education, emphasizing the importance of a collective commitment to creating an inclusive school environment.
