This article aimed to evaluate eating and physical activity habits in 314 individuals with Systemic Arterial Hypertension (SAH) at the Agência de Cooperação Intermunicipal em Saúde Pé da Serra (ACISPES), Juiz de Fora. Dietary intake was assessed through the Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ) and physical activity was assessed using the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ - short version). The median age of the sample was 62 years, with the majority being female (69,42%) and predominantly white (41,71%). Two hundred and five individuals (65,28%) reported engaging in at least 150 minutes per week of walking, moderate, or vigorous physical activity. Household income was correlated with the consumption of oils, desserts, sweets, diet and light products, and Body Mass Index with the intake of meat, eggs, vegetables, and fruits. Walking and moderate physical activity were associated with vegetable and fruit consumption, while the latter was also linked to the consumption of diet/light foods. A significant number of individuals with SAH do not engage in the minimum recommended amount of physical activity per week. Sociodemographic variables and different levels of physical activity appear to be associated with specific dietary patterns.
