THE DIFFICULTIES OF LITERACY IN THE PUBLIC EDUCATION SYSTEM IN BRAZIL

The objective of this article is to discuss literacy in the public education system in Brazil. This text takes a historical and social approach to this important stage of education, which is the appropriation of the reading and writing process. The study was developed through bibliographical research, based on analyzes and reflections by scholars such as Soares, Freire and Macedo who have in-depth knowledge of the universe of literacy and through reading and writing the hope is to understand the topic in order to seek ways to apply the acquired knowledge in practice.
