Abstract

This text aims to identify the challenges and promote reflections on in-service teacher training, specifically in master's and doctoral courses, in professional and academic modalities. Thus, the study is developed with a qualitative approach, using documentary research and questionnaires with objective and subjective questions applied to a group of Basic Education teachers as tools for data collection. For theoretical basis, the works of Gatti (2008), Lima (2001; 2005) and Alvarado-Prada et al. (2010). The research emphasizes the crucial importance of continued training in the academic and professional lives of teachers, enabling them to exercise their political and social functions.
