This article seeks to explore the ways in which leisure can be embedded in society, pointing to mental health and the possibility of denouncing social injustices as the main advantages arising from its guarantee and balancing them with the disadvantages of its absence. This is carried out through a major critique against the contemporary capitalist system and its nuances in the scope of work and the canonical perspective of its dignification. Thus, the common lifestyle of the world population is problematized, which gradually distances individuals from an ideal relationship with themselves and others, which makes visible the latent precariousness of human rights. In this sense, reflections on this care are presented, presenting idleness as a fundamental method for quality of life and the subject's connection with their intimate selves.
