This article aimed to analyze the National Curriculum Guidelines for Initial Teacher Training for Basic Education (DCNFP) - CNE/CP resolution Nº. 02/2019 and the implications for the Physical Education course. For this purpose, we draw a parallel with the CNE/CES resolution nº 6/2018 that establishes the National Curriculum Guidelines for undergraduate courses in Physical Education (DCNEF), analyzing three aspects: continuing education; the fragmentation of teacher training and the supervised curricular internship. It should be noted that the text is the result of a bibliographic review and analysis of the documents establishing the new DCNS. The analysis points to a scenario of alignment between the new DCNS that aims at lightened training and focused on the logic of competences. Finally, we understand that, in order to overcome this logic, it is necessary that in the process of drafting legislation involving education, listening and dialogue with the main stakeholders in this process, that is, teachers, students, academic entities and the population in general. What did not happen in the current guidelines.
