This article sought to elucidate the importance of inclusive education in the learning process of students in the early years of elementary school with autism spectrum disorder. Methodologically, this is a bibliographic study, carried out in the databases of the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD), Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO) and Google Scholar. To do this, he used the following descriptors: Inclusive Education. Autism Spectrum Disorder. Early Years. The bibliographic review covered the themes: “Panorama of inclusive education in Brazil”, “Overview of autism spectrum disorder (ASD)”, “Perspective of inclusive education in the early years of elementary school” and “The challenges of inclusive education in the process of learning for children with ASD during the pandemic period”. It is concluded that throughout the pandemic period it became even more complex to work and develop activities with children with ASD, as both teachers, students and families needed to adapt to this new reality, or the “new normal”, and they also needed to overcome insecurities regarding the use of technologies so that they could have access to the content taught by teachers, so that they could follow along with the class in a satisfactory way, guaranteeing them the necessary learning.
