ANALYSIS OF THE PRACTICE OF AFFECT PSYCHOLOGY IN THE PSYCHOLOGY COURSE OF THE INTERNATIONAL FACULTY OF PARAÍBA - FPB

Psychology is the set of systematic knowledge related to the phenomenon of mental processes, the actions of the individual's behavior and valuing the sociocultural environment as a theory of educational practice where three subjects, Teachers, Students and Mutual Knowledge, are involved. For this, dialogue, through affection, is of fundamental relevance, especially with regard to creating the bond between teacher and student to flow information, because it favors the production of knowledge in an interactive, pleasurable and creative way, leading to implementation of Affect Psychology. The general objective of this study was to: Analyze the practice of Psychology of affect in the Bachelor's degree in Psychology at the Faculdade Internacional da Paraíba - FPB. To achieve this purpose, the study had the following specific objectives: Describe the profile of students in the 6th Period of the Bachelor's Degree in Psychology at the Faculdade Internacional da Paraíba - FPB, identifying whether there is a practice of Affect Psychology; verify whether affectivity contributes to the students’ Teaching-learning Process; identify the Skills that Teacher and student need to develop to build Affect Psychology. The research involved the participation of 25 undergraduate students in Psychology who responded to a semi-structured questionnaire with objective and subjective guiding questions. From the data analysis, it was evident that there was a predominance of females, with 97.5%, and only 2.5% of males; Regarding the age range of students, we have variations, which are 52% aged between 18 and 30 years old, and 48% aged between 31 and 53 years old. Regarding marital status, we obtained 60% married, 32% single and 8% divorced. Regarding classroom experience, 20% have no classroom experience, 60% have less than five years of experience and 20% have more than five years of experience. Furthermore, it was concluded that affection and the creation of a bond, through reciprocal respect, are of great relevance in the teaching-learning process. Furthermore, the results on the skills that the subjects of this process, mentioned above, need to have in order to solidify the Psychology of Affect were also significant. In other words, academic and scientific knowledge, acceptance, respect, understanding, interest.
