The research aims to determine the influence of technology on the writing process due to the proliferation of digital genres and hypertexts that interfere with the teaching and learning of students in Elementary II and High School. A study was developed based on descriptive, qualitative research with bibliographic studies. The problem of the study was: How do ICT influence the textual production process of secondary and elementary school students? Pressure from millions of users has turned Web technology into a de facto standard for creating hypertext. The study seeks to obtain information about the use of the Internet, this new medium that has generated a massive use of hypertext. The study, in addition to helping to understand the use of hypertext and its potential, can therefore be said that reading has become more complex with the presence of these texts, which require skills and abilities beyond those necessary to understand linear reading. . The result of the study showed that it is necessary to build forms of teaching that break with the schemes, that establish and recognize and take advantage of the advantages that these environments offer for learning. The development of reading competence and learning through hypertexts is described as a relatively recent field, in which the search for usefulness and projection of results to promote student learning through the efficient use of hypertext for educational purposes is inevitable.
