Rural education has historically faced unique challenges, marked by a series of specific characteristics that impact the urban context. Given this scenario, a central issue arises that guides this research: what are the difficulties in the use of ICT in rural education? The overarching goal of this research is to investigate the challenges faced in the implementation and effective use of ICT in rural education. To achieve this purpose, specific objectives were defined, encompassing the analysis of infrastructure, understanding educators' perspectives, and evaluating external educational policies for rural contexts. This research adopted a qualitative approach, configuring itself as a literature review. The scope of this review encompassed the search, selection, and critical analysis of relevant sources on teacher training for the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). The need for investments in technological infrastructure, coupled with specific teacher training programs for the effective use of ICT, emerges as a significant conclusion of this research.
