This article aims to address the topic of socio-emotional education in the context of teaching, with an emphasis on the relationship between the school environment and the prison system. Socio-emotional education plays a fundamental role in training socially aware and emotionally balanced individuals, both in schools and prisons. We will explore how the implementation of socio-emotional education programs can contribute to the development of interpersonal and emotional skills in students and inmates, promoting a healthier and more resilient environment in both educational institutions and the prison system. The study also emphasizes the importance of collaboration between educators, prison system professionals and society in general to ensure the effective implementation of these practices. For this purpose, the methodology used was the academic essay, which consisted of a critical analysis and synthesis of the topic. Finally, it is concluded that socio-emotional education not only strengthens individuals' emotional and interpersonal skills, but also contributes to the construction of more empathetic, safe and resilient communities.
