The present work is a study regarding the possibility of applying school mediation, with the aim of reducing or preventing violence in the school sphere. Increasing cases of violence in this locus make it possible to search for new paradigms in dialogue regarding conflicts. Education takes place through the transmission of scientific knowledge, also seeking to develop resources for human beings, so that they can develop capabilities and avoid situations of deprivation of liberty. This problem is proposed, with conflict mediation as a priority, which is an instrumental means, where it can be useful for the reality in our current society, marked by fear, insecurity, intolerance, fragility in human relationships and hate speech. As a general objective of the research, mediation and resolution of collective and individual conflicts is mentioned, carried out in prison schools. The methodological procedure was bibliographical research with a theoretical essay approach, which consisted of a critical synthesis of the literature on the subject. It concludes the importance of reflecting on school mediation as an appropriate means for building consent, a way to live in harmony based on a reciprocal consensus and the participation of the school environment.
