The National Curriculum Guidelines (DCN) of the Graduation Course in Speech Pathology foresee that the speech therapist must be trained to act in a generalist, humanistic, critical and reflective manner, thus, it becomes essential to understand two psychological determinants in the integrality of caregiving in speech therapy In this sense, the Psychology of Human Development (PDH) assumes an important role in the education of Speech-Language Pathologists, however there is a lack of studies on the specificities of the disciplines that address this content in undergraduate courses. This study aims to analyze the insertion of PDH disciplines in Brazilian Higher Education through an exploratory-descriptive study. After the analysis, it was found that the disciplines present similarity in hourly load, nature and period offered, according to the criteria proposed by the DCNs and the necessity of the professional in training. However, it is clear that more research is necessary to better understand the specificities of the content that does not affect the educational and formative processes.
