Abstract

In an innovation to Brazilian political culture, in 2021 the figure of the federation of parties was added to party legislation, through which associations can unite in association without losing their autonomy and identity, despite acting as if they were the only party, with a party statute and program own. Because of this, the present work sought to analyze whether the federation of parties gives rise to the hypothesis of a substantial change in the party program as a just cause for disaffiliation, without loss of elective mandate, therefore. The writing was structured in three sections and, making use of the bibliographical research objectively contextualizes the legitimacy of the political party in the electoral process and the party loyalty in the legal system; approach about the federation of parties and the proportional electoral system; and, with that, it reflects on the consortium of parties as a hypothesis of substantial change for just cause for disaffiliation, understanding, in the end, viability.
