This study aimed to analyze, through an integrative literature review, the effects of parenting on children's communication and to verify if there is any parenting style with greater impact on children's communicative function. This is an integrative literature review, carried out in June and July 2022, in the databases: Virtual Health Library: VHL (BIREME) -with access to MEDLINE, LILACS and IBECS, PubMed, PsycINFO, Scielo (Scientific Electronic Library Online -Regional Portal), Scopus and Web of Science. A total of 1320 studies were found, four of which were included in this review. The results showed that responsive parenting had a positive impact on the development of children's communication; while the authoritarian parenting style tends to negatively impact children, causing problems in development and social behavior. Thus, it can be inferred that parenting styles affect the communication of children.
